Aloha Friday

I know, its shocking I'm posting two times in one day! It's Aloha Friday, stop by An Island Life to learn more about Aloha Fridays. Basically you post a question for your readers to ponder, so here goes!

My question for you today:

If you are fortunate enough to go on vacation with your family for one week and asked to give up your cell phone, computer, tv, video games and all the technology that keeps us connected, could you and your family members do it?

My answer:

I could do it for one week, but I'm not sure my husband would do it. It's all about choices and my choice would be my family for that entire week. It's only one week out of our lives (see, I'm already working on him :). The kids wouldn't have a problem because they would have our undivided attention. And we would be at the beach, see photo of my kids last summer at the beach. No problems here, daddy-o!

Take us to the beach somewhere warm and we could all easily do it!! (Hmm. . . . except for one of my bros-in-law - he's permanently connected to his blackberry - ha!!)

If I could go anywhere I wanted -- definitely. I would have alot to catch up on when I got back -- but well worth it.

We could do it buy it would be tough because we are both hooked on our laptops and blackberries.

No problem here - vacations are for doing "other" fun things. If you need all those gadgets around to keep you busy, the gadgets are your relationships, not the people!!! You can tell your hubby, this is what the psychologist on the blog said (I really am one, LOL).

Yeah I would do it if we went somewhere cool! So that we could go play outside, and do a lot of things together!

I would love to do it

For a week?! Probably not even an hour! My husband needs his phone/computer for work and I need mine for my sanity and entertainment!

As much as everyone says I'm addicted to my crackberry, I could do it. I think my kids could (not sure) but know my husband couldn't. He has a small business with no one to watch over it while we are away so he has to be available. (I can hardly complain since it's our livelihood.)

I could do it...if we had stuff to keep us busy. But when I'm just sitting in a hotel room...I see no reason not to use electronics like that.

I could! And I gladly would if I ever got the opportunity.

I could take the camera, right?

Well... we used the cell phones for walkie talkies on our last vacation. They are handy.

But I know we would have a great time together. Any vacation sounds great!!

I have a question ready for the next aloha friday!

I think that this is a great idea, but I honestly do not think my family could do it. My husband is "tied" to his cell phone - talks on the phone more than anyone else in my family!! My oldest son's iPod and cell phone are always with him and I couldn't live without my Blackberry or computer! My youngest son, however, would be in heaven...he is a very "carefree" individual - just "goes with the flow"!!! I think maybe a few days would work for us, but never an entire week.
